May 8 @ 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm
Vision Morton Grove (VMG) & Cook County United Against Hate are co-sponsoring a free screening of the 30-minute documentary “Waking in Oak Creek” followed by small group discussions about working together in our community to stand against hate.
Please RSVP HERE to join VMG and Cook County Commissioners Scott Britton & Maggie Trevor on Wednesday, May 8th at St Luke’s Community Church / Dekhoda Educational Foundation, 9233 Shermer Road (at Shermer & Harlem) in Morton Grove. Free parking is available in the north lot adjacent to the Church / Foundation and can be accessed via the driveways at both Shermer or Harlem.
The program will be from 7:00 – 8:30 pm. Beginning at 6:30 pm, attendees are invited to a pre-program opportunity at the same location to view the International Servant Leaders Museum that opened in 2023. For more information about the Dekhoda Educational Foundation and the Museum, CLICK HERE.
The 30-minute documentary “Waking in Oak Creek”, produced by Not In Our Town, reveals a community’s inspiring response after the deadly 2012 hate attack at a Sikh Temple near Milwaukee.
Vision Morton Grove is a community partner of Cook Conty United Against Hate. We hope you can join us for this event.
