Vision Morton Grove Zoom Meeting – Follow up actions for environmental sustainability and racial equity in Morton Grove

Thanks to everyone who signed and got others to sign our 2 online petitions. We ended up with 103 resident’s signatures for our request to improve and fund the Morton Grove Sustainability Plan and 112 for our request that the Village provide a full-time social worker for the Morton Grove Police Department! We presented these to the Village President and Board of Trustees and to the Environment & Natural Resources Commission. Now we need your help to make sure the Village follows through on both of these requests before the 2021 budget and the Sustainability Plan are finalized soon.
 
We’ll give you an update and tell you how you can help at this meeting. You’ll also learn about these local groups that Vision Morton Grove will be working with and ways you can get involved:

Go Green Illinois which supports the establishment of environmental groups in every community in the northern suburbs;

The Justice Project, a grassroots social justice movement to inspire communities in the northern suburbs and beyond to be welcoming, inclusive and diverse;

Our continued affiliation with The People’s Lobby and their upcoming lobby day in support of the Pretrial Fairness Act which would reform the justice system for people awaiting trial and end the use of money bond.
